from 35.00

Our wooden hymn art is handmade with love by Kayla Currier, owner of Live Oak Boutique.

DETAILS:

This hymn, When We All Get To Heaven, was written by Eliza Edmunds Hewitt who was born in Philadelphia 28 June 1851. She was educated in the public schools and after graduation from high school became a teacher. However, she developed a spinal malady which cut short her career and made her a shut-in for many years. During her convalescence, she studied English literature. She felt a need to be useful to her church and began writing poems for the primary department. She went on to teach Sunday school, take an active part in the Philadelphia Elementary Union and become Superintendent of the primary department of Calvin Presbyterian Church. This is just one of the many songs she wrote in her lifetime. *Reference Hymnary.org

The Story Behind Our Wooden Hymn Art Collection

Hymns bring back such sweet memories. For me, memories of going to the little Baptist church in Vega, Texas with my mom and brothers, sitting close to the front row, trying our best to behave. For my mom, hymnals bring back sweet memories of her Grandmother singing in the kitchen. For many, hymns have a way of bringing back cherished memories of loved ones who have already gone home to be with Jesus.  I wanted to create beautiful timeless art that brings back cherished memories and reminds us of the gospel.
